(Eagle Street Pier, 1 Eagle Street, Brisbane QLD)

It was Mother’s Day, but also my Mum & Dad’s 24th Wedding Anniversary so a family outing to a special restaurant was a must.  Everyone talks about Aria as a restaurant to go to, so we all thought we would give it a try for these special occasions.

The Eagle Street Pier precinct never disappoints as to a spot for all the great restaurants and things to love forward to afterwards with the family.

The restaurant was crisp and clean, well that was until my brother arrived and in the first few moments spilt his drink all over the crisp white table cloth.  Nothing phased the waiters and that one was taken off and a fresh table cloth was put on.  It never ceases to amaze me how many times he does that, but this is the first time the restaurant that we were at changed the tablecloth for us – nice!

With the restaurant overlooking Brisbane’s iconic Story Bridge’ and it being a beautiful blue day, this restaurant was the perfect setting for a lovely lunch.

On to the food …

All of the meals that we were served were plated ever so elegantly in fact all the meals looked like a piece of art work when presented.  For entre I had a mouth watering pork belly dish of which there was just not enough of.  For mains however, I was a very disappointed as I ordered a chicken and macadamia dish.  Whilst it came out looking amazing, to me it tasted like processed chicken meat, albeit very tasty processed chicken meat.  Mum was very adventurous this day and tried her first ever piece of salmon, as she figured she would get something half decent tasting from a decent restaurant.  It must have been good, because there was not a speck left on her plate.

All the meals served appeared to be tiny or as Mum call’s them ‘Lean Cuisine’, but to our surprise each meal was probably just enough so as to not disappoint, but fill up our belly’s contently.

Desert was a treat of a treat ……. Vanilla Bean Ice Cream with pear, homemade honeycomb and snaps.  It looked amazing and was a party in every bite.  Such a lovely way to end a meal with my family.

Only negative was the price of the meals, but to be honest they were really worth the money paid, so would I recommend you teenagers to drag your parents to ARIA for your next special occasion ? YES! Your families will love the restaurant and the location.

Of course we went for a lovely walk along the Brisbane River afterwards.  Good Times.
